The course material explains the functionality of various blowers, such as centrifugal blowers and rotary lobe blowers. Electrical design requirements and LFG energy recovery systems are covered in the course content as well as the methods of operation and maintenance for landfill gas collection systems. The course material is based on Landfill Gas Collection and Treatment Systems, USACE EM 200-1-22, Chapters 4-6.

After completing this course, the learner will have a better understanding of landfill gas treatment systems as well as an understanding of the following topics:

• Condensate collection equipment and automation of controls
• Design and operating criteria of flares
• Auxiliary fuel, flame arrestor, and flow metering
• Primary wellfield monitoring and perimeter LFG migration control
• Gas monitoring probes and LFG monitoring equipment
